Hi I have a plate on the roof its about 2 ft square covers an old aircon hole or something. Was stuck down and screwed from above. Sealant around the edges look to be hard and cracked. Was thinking I could scrape off the loose clean up with myths and paint with rubber paint Sealant. I'm afraid to lift it as may damage the plate or what's underneath. Any advice or tips welcome

Possibly the blanking plate from a removed crankup sat dish.
I'd leave it alone unless it's letting in moisture/water
