Reading my Truma operating instructions it tells me :-

" Heating operation is basically possible without restriction with or without water content."

They wouldn't lie, would they ? But to a mug like me it sounds dangerous. If anyone understands exactly what they mean, please advise !

Yes, I have a Truma C3402 and it runs fine without water, it handy In frosty weather if the frost valve won’t stay closed.
@JJF may be able to explain it as he would have had some of these apart

I have an old Truma heater (not sure of the model) and the heating runs fine without water.Just choose the heat only option of course. I remember checking online and also with Leisure Technical when I had it replaced with an another second hand version. I run it sometimes over the winter for about 30 mins during a check of the appliances when I have the van fully drained down.

Yes, can be run without water as the flame heats an exchanger and a fan blows air over it to carry the heat to the vents.

I think I've been answered, but really they're bog standard Truma, inner and outer controls. Gas only.

Mine has the added bonus of an electric element which can heat the water whilst on hook up. Used it once to test it as seldom on hook up

Are there any guides as to gas usage for a Truma ? I realise that's a how long is a piece of string question , but on 40° heat only for example ?
