I can agree with the careful where you drive bit. Just had to be towed by a tractor as I couldn't get the van up a hill at Kinnagoe Bay, Donegal. I was doing ok until a guy in a car decided he had right of way coming down, he could obviously see I needed room but came anyway. I was left stuck on a corner with no where to go I filled the road with smoke from the clutch and the inside is stinking from the smoke smell. A local gave me a tow in his Massey.

So many muppets with driving licences these days. One of the things drilled into me when I was learning was on a hill the vehicle going down always gave right of way to vehicles coming up.
These LEZ’s are not funny. Last week we were tagging along with friends and they said the next stop was Bath. I asked was the site outside the LEZ zone which they knew nothing about. Anyway we were about a mile from the zone so all was well.
Next they said our next stop is Gloucester so I popped it into Waze and it showed us heading towards Bristol, yes another LEZ which they knew nothing about.
Anyway we skirted around the Bristol by pass and all was well.
It’s hard to keep track and the fact we were all plated over 3500kgs it could have been £100 a pop
Not that i would ever drive into London again (did 5 years of daily trips into London in the 70's when i was driving for a living) but if you check via the link it does not mention London you have to go to their website where it will tell you if you pay the charges it makes your vehicle pollution free

My old van cannot hold any emission sticker so always check before I go near any place where we could be caught.
I use a little app called Green-Zones and is available at https://www.green-zones.eu/en/ Worth having on the phone.

If you go to the London website and pay it makes your van pollution free. that has to be the best deal ever, don't know if the French will accept it

Mine is of a similar vintage. I’m surprised mine doesn’t run on coal. I could give it a go at Shane’s Castle Steam Rally maybe
