When you convert a van to a camper (or a van with windows 😉) in the uk do you have to pay vrt equivalent or extra tax to change the use similar to what the south has to do ?

No, small fee for "change of use".

Thats a fair system compared to the vrt charged in south,

Im surprised there isnt more converted vans on the roads when there is just a set fee to change the use,

More converted vans!!

Jaysus it's huge in the UK, numerous van groups with over 150k members.

Commonly known by some as now ruining parking spots for motorhome owners as #vanlife is now a thing. Sell the house and live in a van. Who can blame them? With rent sometimes a £1000 a month and other charges, it's getting beyond peoples reach, folk are sick of the system and billionaires milking us all.

I do think it's a massive fad for most though.
