Wind speed vs MPG

Got this through the week.
It measures Wind speed and direction and is a calibrated unit.
Because of the recent hike in fuel prices, I was very conscious of our miles per gallon when driving.
According to calculations It is believed that for every 10 mph of headwind MPG is reduced by 13%.
So we are now able to measure the wind speed and direction each morning and now decide what direction to take or to travel at all. If there is a major headwind, we will probably stay put onsite for a day or two until the wind direction changes.
It even links to an app that lists areas that are downwind.
We’ve worked out that over the course of the year we will
save at least £200 in fuel. I reckon it should pay for itself in 18months

You don't actually need to disrupt your travel plans becuase of the wind. Just drive backwards to where ever you want to go on the day!!

Would that mean you relay couldn't use your van in Donegal , unless you were leaving so the wind would be at your back. :-/ O-) 8-)
