Wiper intermittent Function

Hello,
I have a 2008 fiat Ducato and the wipers work intermittently .When I turn off the ignition and restart they work again.
I went to the local auto electrician and he said it was the motor /linkages I got new motor and linkages and he fitted them and its still the same . All the fuses are ok . Everything else is working fine .He said it is probably the ignition switch and I rang the Fiat main dealer and the service manager said he didn't think so .He said it is still an auto electrical problem .I will have to find another a auto electrician now . The local garage cannot help .
Does anybody have any suggestions .

Likely not a solution for you but I had an Alfa 156 with an intermittant problem(problem with the intermittant wipe) and the solution was the electrical contacts being greased up. Given the 156 and Fiat 2008 are from the same company there may be similarities in the design. I would also think a lot of wipers are reasonable similar - like the clock spring in the steering wheel. Remeember just because you can measure the correct voltage in something doesn't make it right. The wire/connection has to be capable of bringing the current as well. Have a look at http://wojtek-n.blogspot.com/2…oblem.html

While discussing the vagarities of modern-day sensors and ECUs with a mechanic he related the following experience to me.
He was called to sort the wipers which were malfunctioning on a vehicle after it was started by jump leads off another vehicle.
He checked all fuses, connections, etc., and could find wrong or broken.
He then plugged the vehicle into his diagnostics laptop and found a parameter in the settings which control the wipers, buried deep in the menus, had gone to a wrong setting, after changing it back to the correct setting the wipers worked perfectly again.

And that's why I like my 20-year-old Volvo, very little modern electronic sh1te.

Hessy had a similar issue recently and i dismantled, cleaned contacts and stuck together again to no benefit.
I took off the relay and it worked fine in full motion. So i replaced the relay and its fixed great.
Try it - a few quid is all it costs.
