Have travelled through France in the past week and stayed in various hotels and dined in restaurants.
All were lovely, but understanding the menus can sometimes be fun.
So this brings me to “What food to never order in France”
While in the town of Colmar in eastern France I ordered the
“Andouillette AAAAA, sauce moutarde - frites & salads”
It is a ‘pork’ sausage with mustard sauce with chips & salad. To say it is an acquired taste is stretching the imagination, very strong flavour and an aroma to match with a chewy texture. I ate the meal (I’ve a strong stomach & will eat anything) but if I see it in a menu in the future I shall “read on by” !!
Google it and see the ingredients !
So, what have you ordered and found it “interesting”, something you won’t repeat.
It takes all sorts, and part of the pleasure of travelling is sampling different cuisine, something I’ll continue to do, even if it sometimes proves a challenge !.
