I can't seem to find anywhere online a summary of the regs for importing a used motorhome to NI post Brexit.
Is it the same as for the rest of the UK?
Thanks

Not sure about ROI to NI but there are slight differences between new and used. I did new from Germany to ni in 2021 and it went something like this
Buy van inc vat in EU
Notify HMRC of import to NI
Pay UK vat
Notify EU dealer and send proof of vat paid to get refund of EU vat
Get garage to make van UK compliant
Send proof of compliance, vat etc to dvla for registration
Put UK plates on van

There is a few forms to fill in and they are all available online overall the process took me about 2 months from start to finish

Thanks for that.
I am wondering about importing a 8 year old van from Germany.......does it mean that the rules are different from The rest of UK? i.e. no VAT or Import duty payable in NI?

Headlights.
Rear fog light to correct side (if only one fitted).
MPH overlay on speedo (if needed)

Possibly other things too.

The overlay is no longer acceptable.

The modifications must be carried out by a trade registered garage per companies house

The fog lights must also be a certain height off the ground

The rules for NI are different than the rest of the uk as we are still considered to be within the eu per brexit hence no import duties, but vat is payable

But if the VAT is already paid in another eu state, as it would be in the case of a used vehicle, would it really have to be paid again?

Thanks for the info to date!!
