back door self locking when slammed

Recently got an 07 dethleffs esprit globetrotter, i notice if the back door is slammed it self locks( not ideal if keys are inside)
i can see the lock button could easily drop down on impact
Before i investigate, has anyone come across this?

I presume you mean the Hab door? If it is a keyless lock, it could be an earth short in the electric door lock loop

Even if it's not keyless but is connected to the central locking system of the cab door(s) the fault mentioned by sprinter could still be the reason

I'd say that there's probably a broken spring allowing the internal mechanism to drop & lock

It appears to be the lock itself, the lock button doesn't drop down.

its under warranty from Cara Motorhomes, i will take it up with them.
