Camping Les acacias is just over the bridge by the sea, also has an Aire beside it , but personally I like Camping le bel air , supermarket close by and about 10 min walk down to harbour and beach, was acsi but I don't know now
We didn’t like Il de Re, but it was raining and the year we ended up on the med. just too busy for us. Have a look at camping au port Punay , just down the coast. Great site and a short walk to the village. Might need to book. Planning to go back in September for the 4th time.
Camping Varennes in ACSI 1298, midway, Le bois-plague-en -Re, stayed there twice, walking distance to beach.
There is an Aire too don’t know name but think in city St Martins (with star shaped walls?)
We also stayed in one at the furthest point.
Hope to go back this year sometime maybe late May/ early June on our way back up from Spain …nothing booked yet.
we were there in Sept and the weather was fantastic. stayed at a municipal site not far from the harbour with loads of restaraunts and shops. could only get 1 night though as we hadnt booked. good site though
Been going there for nearly 20 years...its got busier and busier, to the point where it is now over run for me and rediculously expensive. There is a nice aire at Bois plage literally 50m from beach that has hot outside shower, its near 20euro per night now I think from 6 when we started staying on that particular aire in in 2010. In September it might be more manageable...we are stuck to peak times as still have kids. Maybe consider using an aire First to see if you like it.

As a matter of interest, has the cost of the toll Bridge gone up at the same rate over the year's?
