I received a mail from the Hub, I presume anyone who has visited them during the year received the same,

"As the evenings draw in and the year drifts towards Wintertime, we're taking the opportunity to say a huge thank you to our visitors and supporters throughout this year.

During the month of November, all weekday stays at the Hub are FREE (except for EHU which costs €5). Yes FREE!

So if you can come visit during the week or add a day onto either end of your weekend, it will cost you nothing on a standard pitch or just €5 on an EHU pitch. FREE nights are Sunday to Thursday inclusive."

To avail of the free nights offer, you must book online at www.hubbookings.ie.

Nice gesture as a thanks for the custom.

They’re also trying to raise funds to put in some extra lighting, so would be good to throw in a contribution:

“The darker evenings have highlighted the need for extra public lighting around the site and we have launched a Lighting Fund to try to pay for the installation. If you come visit during November, we'd be delighted if you could contribute towards the fund - but this is entirely volutary and no-obligation.

We hope to have enough raised to carry out the work early in December and brighten up the site in time for Christmas. The donations box will be located in the shop inside the Hub itself. “

A very good initiative. It will bring some additional winter income to the town at no cost to The Hub.
Always good to see win win results.

No weir at the hub today. Big flow on the river after all the rain yesterday.

That's probably why those pitches are non EHU,

Well at the moment it's strictly MH, with canoeists allowed to camp for 1 night while traveling down river
