There is a fuel strike on at present throughout France. It is caused by workers at two or three refineries resulting in there has been a significant reduction in deliveries. Apparently there are virtually no delivers to Total who operate about a third of all fuel stations in France. Deliveries to Exxon/Esso are also affected.
This has resulted in most of Total and Esso stations being out of fuel due to no deliveries and shortages at other stations due to demand. I guess that around half of all stations have no fuel, this is based on travelling 400+ miles in France Sunday and today from Basel to Dreux non motorway
There were queues today at any station with fuel and queues were maybe 0.5km long at some stations on the outskirts of Paris.
Diesel has also gone up, typically now in the €1.90s with some places over €2.00.
Having said all of the above fuel is available, it’s just inconvenient to get it
