Removing Belted Seat

I'm thinking of removing a crappy belted 3rd seat in the back of MH and replacing it with a more comfortable bench type seat. The MH is licensed for 3 people but we never use the 3rd seat for a passenger so happy to get rid of it.

Just wondering what would happen on at annual CVRT test if the there wasn't a 3rd belted seat even though 3 passengers is stated on the logbook ?

Has anyone any experience of this ?

My experience suggests that CVRT testers appear to have no interest in any seats behind the cab seats.
My mh is listed as having four seats but the belts for the two in the back are permanently behind the cushions and not visible but no tester has ever mentioned the apparent lack of belts on the seats

I failed my test last year because one of the back seat belts was broken. Like you, I never use the seats in the back when driving so I didn't even realise it had broken! But I think it depends on where you bring it to be honest.

I'd hope so but if they looked at the log book they might fail me :-(

I remember when seat belts became compulsory to use in the 70s a neighbour took the belts out of his Wolseley because if a car had no belts, then there weren't compulsory!

I don't think the testers refer to the vehicle details on the registration certificate (log book).
As said, my mh has two certified seats in the back, and the log book says 4 seats, but the seatbelts on the two in the back have never been checked, probably because the belts are not visible.
As the old saying goes 'out of sight out of mind'

Just checked with my CVRT centre and they said it would not be a problem to replace belted seat with a couch :-) I'll keep the anchor points incase a new owner wanted to reinstall the belted seat
