For 2023 we are thinking of closing very early (3 September) and getting a ferry from Rosslare to Cherbourg and then taking a while to follow the Rhine and Moselle in France/Germany into Austria then France into Spain.
It’s been a while since we did this, so I can’t remember what we did last time other than loving Germany. Are there options to fill up the gaslow? Any must see locations or sights? I’m not very culturally oriented but scenic locations? Any must do stellplatz or campsites.

I will have apps for parking up overnight and ACSI card.

Any other tips?

If it suits your route there is an excellent Aire in Luneville about 25km on the Strasbourg side of Nancy. It is €10 per night including EHU, showers, toilets, water and dump. We aim for it for night 2 after getting off the ferry.

The entrance is a bit unusual in that it is directly on a mini roundaabout. Immediately off the roundabout keep left to the Aire barrier with card access, keeping right takes you up hill to the associated caravan site.

For night 1 off the ferry we aim for Falaise (no services) or Brezoles (water and dump). Both are completely free.

https://www.searchforsites.co….61,Harburg Castle one of the many hi lights of this years trip , hilly walk back up from the wee town but well worth the effort @€8 pre night with hook up. We crossed into Austria near Fussen a bit of a tourist trap but if your in the area it would be a pithy to miss it .

if you are coming through germany into austria, then a visit to the dornier, Zeppelin and Erwin Hymer museums might be work a look if you have not been already. The zeppelin has a relica of the hindenberg that you can get inside and explre the accomodation etc. The Hymer museum has caravan and campers from the 1920's onward and is a great interactive day out.

I have done the Mosel many times and there are so many stelpatz you will be spoilt for choice. Also came down the Rhine from Rees (bit higher up from Duisburg), and down the Mosel and again some great stops on there . Do like Dusseldorf and have been to the show once and wasn't my scene.
