We had a chap stay earlier this year who had taken a leaky kontiki completely apart as a lock down project. He kept all the internal equipment and then using the skills he learnt from his boat building dad he built a fibreglass habitation area, re used all the existing windows roof lights etc. He did admit it was costly but probably cheaper and a better end result than replacing the existing walls, back roof etc.
Then this week we had a La Strada on a merc chassis. The thing with la Strada and wingamm is it a monocoque fibreglass body. No joints, no seals = no leaks.
I had a go on their configurators the end products are not cheap but if I won the lottery there’s a La Strada out there with my name on it.
