Hired Camper

This is the tap shared by 2 pitches on Blarney campsite. This morning I saw a guy emptying his toilet down at one of these pipes. I challenged him saying this was not acceptable, he said " sure it's only pee!" I said that doesn't matter , you should empty it at the designated chemical disposal point , I offered to show him where it was, but he huffed " you've made your point" , and retreated in to his van. If that's the behaviour on a campsite, what hope is there for good behaviour when wild camping.

In my experience it's very common, if the toilet emptying isn't obvious or convenient people use anywhere. On aires in France and Spain it's not unusual to see toilet paper and crap on top of drains meant for grey water, the black waste will usually be right next to it but people are too lazy or thick to lift a drain cover.

I would rather poke it through with the finger of the person who put it there in the first place.

Sure just pee on it to wash it through. It’s only more pee…

Came across this very thing this morning in Germany a big brown trout sitting a top of the grill and the drain cover only 40cm away !
