One of the best dealers in the country in my opinion, they will be sadly missed. A lot of dealers are in the same position regarding stock its hard to get, we have been ordering vans and lorries with a year and half delivery date so I feel their pain.
It's hard to trade on thin margins but companies will suck it up for a little while if they can see things improving and they can maintain their turnover as best they can. When they just can't get stock despite a pool of available customers, their turnover will be wiped out and the margins won't matter a shite, it's just completely out of their control and a very difficult situation to be in.
I hope all of the staff can find other work quickly.
Just to let people know any manufacturers warranty will be honoured by new dealers who are currently in the process of being appointed. We will continue to operate the business as usual until the end of the year.

I passed there recently, six motorhomes and one caravan parked across the yard at the front, acres of empty yard space behind them, I was thinking they weren’t doing much trade in them, or they were going through them quickly.

I Selfishly hope we have rambler, we spent 5weeks on the road in France and Spain this july/August and in 20odd years road tripping, I've never seen so many campers/moho's....maybe a bit of thinning out would do no harm
Lots of motorhomes on the Cork/Roscoff sailing yesterday. Also noticed no shortages of motorhomes at dealers on the way down through Nantes and Rennes, it must be that there are loads of left hand drive models.

Darn it Colin! Stop tantalising us with French town and city names... spare a thought for those of us who went in May for a change instead of September! Oo la la, ze weather today in Dungarvan is ..how you say ...tres bon!
Very disappointing news I alway found them sound lads to deal with they always went the extra mile, me thinks there's a big economic mess coming down the line across the board.
The ferry was rammed last Friday a good mix of our euro friends retuning home and Irish vans heading out , we made it to the start of the romantic rd today ,we were rained out Luxembourg City yesterday but having a ball ,

It's always hard to learn of a local well established business closing. I dropped in to Birdhill during the week (Tue) and it was closed too, temporarily I hope, with little stock out back and some new inside. Getting stock and supply chain is big problem still showing effects.

I work in a car auction that sells cars that have been traded in and surplus to requirements and one of the dealers was expecting 40 brand new cars for the new english reg starting 1 Sept.
He got a phone call on Monday to say he was getting zero cars. He then had the task of phoning 40 customers to say their car wasn’t coming in
The elite have become a law unto themselves, they believe that they can control the economy to their own benefits.
The lesser well off in society cannot spend what they do not have,
this is now the time for government to step in and take control.
Come on Lis we need your help.
The biggest problem with Motorhomes supply for the Irish/UK market is that the manufacturers are fulfilling orders for LHD vehicles for the European market and RHD vehicles for the relatively small UK/IRL market are forced to take a back seat.

Plus you can bet the extra hassle selling units in to the UK, will make some of them consider is it worth while,
The Irish Market is probably less then, most of the 16 provences in Germany and also most of the 12 Regions in France, with a combined market of over 29 times the size of Ireland.
which puts it a long way down the line.
I think we're going to see a lot more new LHD Campers on Irish plates.
My mh is LHD ordered new from a UK dealer. The base vehicle had extras not available on RHD models.
The LHD is just perfect for touring on mainland Europe and no bother here at home.
LHD also opens up possibility of doing a trading in deal with a mainland European dealer.

It would be interesting to know, how that work, if it was a French van, would they put it back on the original plates, or would they have to go to the same rigmarole as here, getting it reregesteted. There would hardly be any import duty on it.

When importing from the UK i know that you all have to pay a substantial import tax, if you import direct from another EU country does that charge still apply?
