Hi all,

Wipers work fine on intermittent or full speed, but not at all for normal speed.

Is it likely to be the switch on the stalk on the steering wheel or is there a relay maybe gone?

Hi Darren,
The previous owner to me of your van left my house about an hour ago and he’ll know exactly what’s wrong with it so I’ll give him time to get home and I’ll give him a bell.
He is an excellent auto electrician so I can only assume it’s something unfixable without buying a new wiper motor but I’ll find out for you.
We both managed to live with it

I spoke to previous owner and he did take out the motor and got it operating but it failed again but for convenience of removal he extended the wire.
If you wish to change the motor he advises bonnet removal via 4 10mm studs.
New motors are available from coastal motorhomes in the link below from around £32 plus vat

Thanks Brian.
I assumed as it worked at other speeds, that the motor itself was fine.

Not an urgent job, sure it hardly ever rains here 😂

If you can switch the wiring in the connector block you should be able to figure if it's the motor or the stalk has the fault,.

I haven’t looked into it at all, was just putting up with it as it isn’t a big deal.
Was just thinking that if the normal speed has stopped, maybe the other settings might go too.
Intending to keep using it during the off season so will definitely need them working in some manner 😁

Wipers working on certain speeds and not on others are one of two things (usually).
1. Switch
2. The slip rings in the mechanism within the motor… the motor is OK but the copper slip rings and contacts can become adrift that is usually caused by wipers frozen to the windscreen over winter and when the motor is switched on the copper contacts overheat and bend…. Usually Can be repaired. It also sometimes manifests as the wipers not parking when switched off.
