Rosslare Ferry Terminal?

Hi all/anyone. We're off to Blighty in a few weeks and have no experience of the Irish Ferries terminal in Rosslare, neither are they great to answer the phone so here's my Q...if sailing is 8 a.m. approx will they allow/facilitate me parking up when I arrive a few hours early and/or is there a dedicated parking/slip area for campers? I don't want to be cutting it too tight and miss the boat on the 1st go! Thanks in advance Con

There's room for parking at the ferry terminal or if you're very early there's plenty of parking in Rosslare itself

Earlier this year we stayed overnight in the carpark at the terminal, it's a pay&display, €5 for 24 hours IIRC.
Next morning when going to the check-in I noticed some parked by the little beach just before the roundabout. Here

They have installed height barriers there now.

But why? The carparking area was never busy overnight. They charged for parking. Why now restrict it to just cars? It was also a good place for parking up to take the dog for his last walk or first walk after the crossing. Last time I arrived late I stayed at Coral Gables which was €25 a night, I think it’s now €30.

The barrier is at the beach entrance just off the roundabout.
