Hair dryer

Hey Guys and Girls

We are heading back to france again this year for 3 weeks, last year we only stayed at campsites for a total of 4 nights and have to say we where not that fust we much preferred the aires.

My question is whats my best option for using a hair dryer when I wont have hook up, I am going to fit a solar panel before I go and most likely 2 new liesure batteries.

Should I buy an inverter or generator both seem a little expensive for really all I (or should I say my wife) needs it for is running the hair dryer every other day.

Whats the outcome going to be on my batteries if I use an inverter for this say hair dryer running for about 10-15 minutes (wife has very long thick hair takes an age to dry lol).

Cheers Gary

Gary,
We go to France every year and use Aires all the time. After many years trying various things we eventually ended up buying a Honda Generator which we have found excellent. We've had Solar Panels, Inverters etc but have come to the conclusion that a generator is the best all round investment. We had a Honda 1.0i until recently and now we've bought a Honda 2.0i but the 1.0i was adequate.

When are you hoping to go as if we weren't away you could always borrow it. Let me know by private message.
Cheers

Hi Gary, we have same "problem??". What we do is pay a couple or 4 euro for 55mins hookup on the aire we are at in the morning before departure.

What about standing out in the sun for a couple of minutes or go for a number 2 ( hair cut that is)

Hi Pointypatrol. Certainly go for solar panel and 2 leisure batteries as this will give you more12v power for longer, however an inverter I would not entertain as it usually take more power to run it that to run the item you have plugged into it. A generator yes, by all means that will allow you to run 240 volt and 12v gadgets including you wife,s hair dryer for as long as you need to use it as well as charging your batteries all at the same time.
