Insurance Renewal

Hi

My 1989 VW T3 Type 25 LHD 1.6TD JX Westfalia California poptop campervan is due for insurance renewal in a few months so I thought I'd see if my options have changed in the past year.

I live in inner city Dublin so don't need or own a car; the van is my sole vehicle. The van is garaged in an underground carpark.

I tried all the insurance companies and brokers but Dolmen were the only ones who would accept me. I have no claims. Dolmen don't have a no-claims facility on campervan insurance so I don't have a history of no-claims.

They charge me €875 a year but I wouldn't be surprised if they increase prices this year.

Can anyone point me to an alternative to Dolmen?

Thanks.

But that's not your everyday vehicle.

Use one that has a NCD like caravan Guard.

That's a massive saving, just goes to show what the profits are. More money for wine on your next trip to France. I forgot to add in post #5 Dolemen have changed the value of my motorhome from a set figure to "current market value" which I think is a good thing.
