I have a thermo dynamic panel on the shower block. Cost of the whole system around €5500. It heats 350 litres of water to 54 degrees even on cloudy days as it needs light and works without Sun.

Definitely worth it for me.
Is there a grant available or was that the cost after the grant ?

As a commercial business I didn’t apply for a grant as I am not sure if I’d qualify. But inclusive of pretty much every thing it cost me €5500 for all the hot water every single day plus top ups during the day.
I’m a fan,
Ive had solar thermal tubes for over 10 years and they supply me with hot water for most of the year. Solar PV is on my to do list. I’ve joined a few solar Facebook groups as a lot of quotes and specs etc are posted there.
Prices are supposed to be a bit due to demand and there seem to be a lot of fly by night companies popping up doing it so I would go with a long standing one for any install.
We don't use alot of hot water, so I was thinking of using immersion to heat any we need and showers are electric, thinking like a motorhomer , the more panels the better ,6 seems to be standard but I could fit 12 possibly charging an EV in the future as we're being pushed that way
also 5kw battery pack

We got PV panels fitted to our house in 2018 and we are very happy with them. We can make up to 4 kwh on a bright day.
we also have 2 battery's that can store up to 4.8 kw as well. this will last most of the night. During the Summer the biggest part of our bill is the standing charges.
