Many places visited on French trips, but Mont Saint Michel is, without doubt, the most amazing memory for us so far. Followed of course by the Normandy Landing beaches and their concrete ruins.
Because we are going slightly later than usual, 8th Sept, we plan to stop once en route to Camping du port Punay. Great campsite just south of La Rochelle. It closes on the 16th when we will then work our way north towards the Normandy Beaches and the new war memorial. It’s great to be reminded of some of the great locations to visit, but Nante has been on our list for a while now. You should also visit Oradour sur Glane if you can make time.
anyone have tips or guide on this route trip time 15 days ?
Sainte Mere Eglise is a lovely town quite close to Cherbourg, it also has an Aire ( free ) and a camping area, some lovely restaurants , bars and a great museum.
Many people think of the D-Day landings in Normandy but there are some very interesting sites associated with the Battle of The Atlantic along the Brittany coast. It was the winning of the Battle of The Atlantic which paved the way for the successful Normandy Landings.
Here are three very interesting places to visit, one engineering (nothing to do with the Battle of The Atlantic) and two from WW2

They have an Aire beside the campsite that operates on a first come first served basis €16.10 per 24h in July/August season and €9 per person per day to use the 2 pool complexes if you want to.
Awnings, tables, barbecues and even small tents on the pitch all seem to be tolerated. It's a great option if you want a 5* campsite experience for a day or two without advance booking or indeed booking a full week in high season.
