Aires between Le Verdon sur mer and Arcachon basin.

I am thinking of doing a trip to southern Gironde this summer.
We have done Biscarosse and south of it on that coast but never really been in the triangle of Bordeaux, Arcachon and Le Verdon sur mer.

We will probably do mostly Aires and welcome any experience of the area. Aires to avoid or not and any reason would be great.

Hi mark I see you spent time in the Gironde area last year and I am planning touring that area this year. Can you recommend any aires around that area. Any info would be appreciated

Hi gerh

We didn't do that area last year as the weather was better on the med coast.
We are currently in Gruissan on the med again.

There are loads of aires in the Gironde but I have only stayed on biscarosse plage.
My review on it is in the reviews section.

If we stop in the region on our way home this year I will add any new aires used here for you.

Just saaw your post We have an Aires book here from 2011.We used in in 2012. Here is a list of some places moving from North to South.We stayed at Montalivet Les Bains. It was €4.50 a very large Aire on the beach .Others include Hortin Port €6.00, Carcans, €5.50 , L'Huga near Lacanau - Ocean €10 with electric We also stayed at Claouey There were two there one was free.Then a bit further out we came across La Truc Vert which was lovely place no toilets but ah the peace . On the road around the Arcachon basin we have a few more. We found many Aires available but we were there in September. We have information here. Acsi books and camper stop. my hubby says that if you would like we would send you some info from these book including GPS.

Thanks very much for that info I'm sure it will come in handy.we are heading away on Thursday so just doing a last minute bit of research. Last year we just winged it down the Brittany Coast and found some lovely places to stay and hopefully we will be as fortunate this year further south.

Just back from 3 weeks touring in Europe across Belgium Germany France Belgium Czech Republic Austria Luxembourg and used an app called Camper Contact to find aires could not recommend this enough if you upgrade the app you can download the maps offline to use. The App never let us down with directions if you use it on your smart phone it uses your location and lists your nearby aires and also some campsites. We previously used the Aire book in other trips but we didnt need to open this book with this new app its brilliant !!

What did we do before we had the internet - I often ask myself....lol
