Hi folks, I'm from Carlow. I'm not currently a motorhome owner but I have it in my mind to do a van conversion or most likely will end up getting it done.

I'm only looking into getting a base vehicle at the moment and trying to see which make/model would be best to go for.
I asked over on Boards and the impression I'm getting is Sprinter, Ducato or Transit. What do folks on here think or recommend?

The spec I have in mind at the minute would be something traverse bed at the rear over a garage, as decent sized shower/toilet area as space will allow, obvious cooking facility and power facilities for off grid.

All advice/help welcome and appreciated.
Thanks for the welcomes to the forum.

I like the Ducato, found them to be very reliable

The ELWB Sprinter or Crafter, will probably give you the most space inside, go for single rear wheels, and if you'r 5'8" (179cm) or over, transverse bed won't work for you in a van.
The Sprinter Man Carlow might have something,
Some design apps to play with.
Vanspace3D
Sketch-up 3D
Tinkercad
Consider a race van or a convert that has already had the VRT paid, and then remodel to your own requirements.
Everytime you see one parked, ask to have a look around, everyone likes to show off their van.
