motorhome access to Belfast International airport?

My son and I are going to spain for a few weeks with our bicycles. We are flying out of International.
My wife (who is very happy for us) is leaving us to the airport at 4AM in our motorhome because the bikes in their bags won't fit in her car.
Big question - is there access to the drop off area without going under a height barrier?

Not sure. Strangely enough I was looking out the upstairs windows today and passed comments to my brother on the marks on my roof caused by the height barrier at Belfast international. My vans not particularly high but as there is no signage other than the height limit ( I didn't know what my height was) and the barrier was floating on chains, I continued lifting the barrier through the drivers windows over my boomerang aerial and letting it run along the roof. I'm basically a semi high roof so a motor home will not get into the usual drop off point. There is a bus and taxi area so it may be worthwhile checking with the airport on using this as a drop off. Otherwise stop on the main road outside the airport complex and walk in the few hundred meters. Hopefully someone may be able to say whether you can use the bus area. Paul

I made the mistake of collecting my son from the airport in the mh, you only have access to the taxi/bus area and it costs either 3 or 5 quid to get out. Best way would be to stop at the roundabout on the way in (beside mccauslands car hire) and walk in with your bits and pieces

Xtdrew if I were you I would telephone the Airport and ask them. If they say there is no access I would then ask them why and explain that under the human rights act this is discrimination against those who may only own a Motorhome and its their only vehicle.

You could go into the long stay, there is a 10min grace period before a fee applies

We're going tomorrow morning. The plan is:
if it's raining/very cold we'll use the bus park and pay the £4.00;
if the weather's ok we'll use the 10mins free option in the long stay to unload our stuff from the motorhome.

The reason for not walking in from the road is that the bicycle boxes we're carrying are very cumbersome. Thanks for all the help.

There is a useful parking map with height limits at http://www.belfastairport.com/…p-off.html
