Just checking.... I'm reading that proof of vaccination is still required for entry to France. We both have the Irish Covid App and digital pass with QR code on our phones...will they be sufficient?

We had to get the Tous Anti Covid app when we were there in Feb/Mar. I think it is the EU one. I didnt try to see if the UK one worked

Just talked to Stena Line, We need to download and complete a sworn statement form confirming full vaccinations and boosters.
But that's not the problem now....they asked when we were sailing. 12th May.
(Why?) Well.... that's ok at the moment, we're sending out cancelation messages for some earlier sailings. We'll give you 3 or 4 days notice if you're going to be cancelled. (Why the cancellations?) The boat's in dry dock for longer than expected. Anything else I can help you with? (No comment) 😤

I'm just back from France and they never asked for anything apart from passport each way

Yip but the problem is in all probability if you haven’t got something they will be looking for it

Surely that's what the covid app is for. Travelled by plane to Spain last week and that's what they looked for.
As far as I am aware, there are no forms to be filled in.
I'm sailing in June and that's the 1st I've heard of it.

We'll have the app plus the forms, plus my exceptional command of the French language if needed....
Mange tout for now!

It was fun while it lasted lads, but Ally has spoken.
You have until midday tomorrow to work out who said what to who.
After that, all Google Translate apps must be uninstalled! ☹

So, no one understands a bit of Cork slang, Scots Galic, Latin, and a bit of Kyrgyzstan. The English translation of the original, not bad French is.

Yes, you were right this time. That said, is it better to be over-prepared than to be at risk of potential complications? Just to say.

Its better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

Not sure on the current position on France but last year in France you couldn't even get into McDonalds without the app and some restaurants in Spain a week or two back are still looking for the test cert.

Remember it only takes a bit of an outbreak and the apps etc may be enforced again.
