Third time 'Getting on the road' , the last time 5 years ago, not counting the few months with a caravan !!! The first time was with a Dethleffs Globetrotter, nice and big to carry the 4 of us, had it for 7 years, then a VW for a couple of months however it turned out to be too small, even for the 2 of us and now the reliable ( hopefully ) Nissan conversion. Just purchased it recently and still getting used to it. Picking up some new toys for it, Do I really need Solar ?? Really looking forward to getting out more than we did previously. Try some 'Off site' locations this time I think.
Hopefully see you along the highways and byways.
Probably won't get as many waves as we did in the Dethleffs but we will try anyway 8-)

nice one, looks good. We had similar progression, An old 6 berth hymer, a 5 berth hymer, and two Knauss 6 berths...now a self build VW crafter. The crafter is obviously less volume that any of the others...but driving it long distances is a breeze. We do all our trips abroad for 6 week summer trips (two teachers) with children still in tow and eating up the miles in a modern engine is much less tiresome and less thirsty AND much easier to get parts and mechanics to work on them!...BTW, definitely get solar. You would get a big 320W panel on that van easily id say (I bought a new mono panel 320W in Ireland for under 100 euro and I have not used EHU since 2019 and that includes using a 240V 95 liter fridge fridge via an inverter. Best of luck with your trips!

Thank you, Id love to be taking long trips like that, some day. At the moment its weekends and hopefully a week long during the summer. Yeah the smaller definitely has its advantages, cheaper to run and easier to find parking for starters. My mate had one for doing gigs and said it was the best van he ever had. Thats great being able to run that fridge without EHU. However, I'm not at all technical so I am a bit lost when it comes to looking for stuff like Solar, Where are the best deals for what I would require and more importantly, what would i require !!
