Anyone else having problems with Google Maps? Search a destination ok, press start and it flips back to my home-screen. I've emptied the cache and cleared data, also checked for updates. Still happening.
I have Waze and Sygic, but I'd be interested in solving the Google problem....

My brother works for Google on their maps in California. Tell me what operating system etc and I’ll let him know. I know when my iPhone gets to old it has to revert to old versions of apps rather than the latest so they can get very buggy as a result.

Have you the relevent permissions allowed in the google play services app,

I have most of the permissions turned off (android) and it effects some apps but I know what is causing it at this stage,

Google wants to know toooooo much of everybodys business for my liking

I'm a non-tekkie, but I checked in my settings, my software was updated last February.
There's various numbers etc in my settings list, Is my operating system EMUI 9.1.0? The (android) phone is a Huawei P20 lite btw.

Happens to me too. It goes as far as showing a route and when I select go the app closes down.
I now use Waze.
FWIW my phone is a Huawei P20 Light too and I've also tried the various fixes recommended.

Huawei that would explain a lot. Quite a few problems since America started blocking Chinese stuff.
