Spanish fuel.. stay sharp

We stopped yesterday to refuel and we’re aware that the government had subsidised a 20c discount on fuel.
When I drew up there was a poster on the pump indicating a 30c discount.
Filled up and paid but prior to exiting the building I looked at the receipt. No discount.
Went back to cashier and he apologised and rectified the price.
I cannot believe it was a genuine mistake as he is doing this daily.

So folks if in Spain keep an eye on your fuel receipts

No. The pump remains the same and then the cashier scans a QR code for the discount.
A Spanish resident on another forum says it’s illegal to do it your way😳

When it was brought in a couple of weeks ago the couple of garages I used did it the reduced pump price way, it was still advertised at the full price just dispensed at the lower price, possible the Catalans are doing it different
