🇮🇪⚠‼ Protest Announcement ‼⚠🇮🇪

Monday 11th of April

Dublin will be in complete lockdown and for as long as it takes untill our demands are agreed upon by Government!

Our demands are as follows,

1 - Petrol Capped @ €1.10 Per Litre

2 - Diesel Capped @ €1.20 Per Litre

3 - Green Diesel Capped @ 65c Per Litre

4- Home Heating Capped @ 65c Per Litre

These figures are inclusive of VAT and are for everyone at home and at the pump!

5 - Carbon Tax To Be Scrapped!

6 - Eamon Ryan To Step Down With Immediate Effect!

This will benefit each and every Individual, Home and Business in Ireland 🇮🇪

We have picked Monday the 11th as it will not interfere with school kids getting to and from School.

This will also allow for Bus Operators to attend.

We would advise if you have an appointment in Dublin that week that you reschedule where possible.

For those making essential journeys please give extra travel time.

We will have no spokes person as we want The Nation to be addressed on this matter.

You will see people and vehicles from all sectors and organisations aswell as Individual member of the public. From Farmers, Fishing Operators, Truckers & Hauliers, Taxis, Busses, Nurses & Private Care Workers, Builders, Plant Operators and so on.

We ask you all to show support.

#IrishFuelProtest ...... 🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪

GET IT TRENDING ACROSS ALL SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS PLEASE. 🇮🇪

Interesting. I’ve not been here long enough to understand how successful or not a protest like this would be. I’ll watch this space.

A price cap is not a realistic ambition and the threshold is batshit crazy given petrol and diesel are internationally traded commodities and 100% imported. Any increase on current pre tax prices combined with their demanded price cap threshold would just cut off supply.

Excise (including carbon tax) and VAT are the only realistic levers within the control of the Government. They've already cut the excise rates and are working on the technical details of a VAT reduction with the EU. A bit of realism wouldn't go astray.

If there are no spokes person I wonder who drew up these demands. I always like to see names behind any protests or is there a reason why they will not put their name to it.

You don’t need a name, you just need a movement, look what the Canadian trucker’s achieved standing together, if everyone lies down and puts up with it we’re doomed, government after government are all the same, they take the profets , we take the blame

If this was being organised in France people would be applauding the initiative. I don't know who's behind it, but I certainly wouldn't be suspicious of it. To my mind it's probably the carriers on Ireland are pushing the agenda, and fair play to them.
Like the opposition to the property and water taxes, I would support it.
