Got the van through it’s mot today ,thought I was going to have trouble as on he log book it’s states the Motorhome as private light goods, but the bloke said that it should be classed as a Motorhome which it is so of he went and got it changed it took a bit longer so next year when I ring up to mot it it will be on there system as a Motorhome ,thank goodness he was a nice bloke , could have got a real w....r who would have said I would have to get it changed before I could mot it

Well done. Just checked my (NI) tax book and it says body type motor caravan but the taxation class is private light goods. Not sure if that makes a difference or helps me in any way.

I usually ring up to say it is a motorhome so I go down lane one(for lorries etc) rather than booking online as that always assigns me to one of the car lanes. Not sure if that is still an option. Either way I seem to be able to get an appointment in the next few weeks if I needed it.

New system in place Gavin. I think the online booking now includes Motorhomes.

Definetly must be differentiating between my coach built motorhome and a normal car now. The earliest MOT slot my wife could get for her car in Newry was June while when I went through the same online booking system for the van I was offered a slot the very next day and quite a few others over the next week.
