Gas when touring Ireland.

Hy folks,

I'm delighted to have found this great forum :-)

I'm finally getting back to Ireland to explore this summer for around 6 weeks and at some point going to need more gas for sure - looking to switch one of my UK spec Propane 6kg for an Irish spec one (father-in-law is in Ireland and can arrange a cylinder for me for start of the trip). The question is which has the better network - Calor or Flogas ? We'll be largely in the northwest and then down the west coast.

All advice gratefully recieved.

Cheers

Dave

For Autogas or bottles?

Depends which station you visit they are both the same.

All listed free on motorhomeparkingireland.com

It’s not as simple as just changing the cylinder unfortunately it’s a different fitting in the ROI and therefore a different regulator unless you can get the uk spec bottles exchanged or refilled in ROI.

AFAIK Calor are the only company doing the 6kg cylinders in the RoI, and they are as scarce as hens teeth.
