Ya on the propane bottles we have female connection in north propane have male connection,i think the callor gas push on may be the same dont know as i use propane

The South have a very different fitting than the French or UK type. It has the same thread to the vehicle but, unlike the UK or french type, the Southern fitting has a very coarse thread onto which the pump hose is then screwed onto, same as a forklift/plant fitting. Came unstuck last year myself when in the South, bought another fitting when I got home from ABP RV suplies, that takes my LPG adaptor count up to 4 ! Not gonna catch me out again..!!

I enquired before on different vehicles and it was around £1200 - £1500
Last year, I made some basic inquiries about converting our big ol petrol engine over to LPG and the quotes given over the phone ranged from €800-€1200 for our normally carburated engine. Its a bit more expensive for more modern fuel injected engines apparently which need more advanced electronic control for the fuel injection system.
It seems there's a revived interest in gas conversions down South recently now the price of petrol has hit and seems to have settled at €1.62 average. A fair few eastern autogas engineers (Polish, Hungarian) have set up businesses fitting LPG conversion kits to cars... and from what I've heard the LPG movement is gathering momentum.
We still need more forecourts to get on board and put in gas fill pumps. It's pathetic to think there's only 40 odd stations in the republic that serve LPG.

On the way home from work this evening I stopped for petrol at a garage that I know sells LPG autogas.
I had a look at their gas pump set up.
The nice girl running the station was very helpful. She told me this nozzle fits directly onto most vehicles looking for a fill. She also showed me a box of nozzle adapters that they have for vehicles from outside the republic. (Handy to know)...
For anyone interested - the station is O'Callaghans garage, Ballyvolane, Cork city. 51.914458,-8.447577 and the price of gas today was 91c per litre.

Agreed Blag. Why would you though as surely it would be more sensible to just change the engine and sell the diesel, rather than go to the expense of making it into a petrol type engine?
It still all seems a pointless exercise when the engine has to be radically altered to the point of making it likely to easily break down due to higher revs and compression changes lol.
