Well folks. How easy is it to park a van in Dublin city on a Saturday afternoon for a few hours? It must be walking distance of the city center and secure. I’ve never tried parking a van there (6m x 2.1).

St. Mark’s Church Pearse St. It would take a van, standard low electric barrier at the entrance,
You would have to book a space trough someone like,
https://parkpnp.com/ie https://en.parkopedia.ie/ They have phone contact, also.
Go on their sites, they have a lot of parking places on their map, and have a look at google street view, to check what the carpark looks like and if you will fit.

We’ve parked the car at twice at Clan na Gaels pitch bedside irishtown on match days at the aviva, but it’s first come first served, maybe the wrong end of town, for you 5 euro pay at gate

Outside of match days at the Aviva, the area bounded by Leeson Street, Pembroke Street, Mount Street and the canal is very quiet. Most of the buildings are offices and very little activity at the weekend.
I went back to post one on this , just to make sure… a few hours Saturday afternoon, fine…… there is not a single hope in hell I’d leave my van in Dublin centre over night.
I stayed at the Salmon Leap at Lexilip and got the bus in to the City. Had a nice meal and breakfast in the bar.

So did I and I had a good few pints and the Breakfast there next morning. Motorhomes are no longer welcome there now.
A large part of the car park is taken up with outdoor hospitality, that won't change in the near future.
You can see a large tent on the satellite view on google maps https://www.google.ie/maps/@53…a=!3m1!1e3 A Double Decker Bus that has been converted into a Food Truck can be seen parked at the front of the pub in the satellite view has also been moved into the carpark along with another Coffee Van and a shitload of benches.

The White House near Dublin Airport would be another option for overnight parking for easy access to Dublin. Like the Salmon leap it probably wouldn't suit anyone with a dog.

The pub is still closed, presumably overnight parking isn’t available either.

Didn't know that Darren, If my memory serves me right it was pretty expensive to stay there anyway

Good spot for plane spotters, not so much for light sleepers expecting a lie in
I live not too far away, I’m (mostly) used to the noise

Great @sprinter . It was a handy spot to park for a few hours. Once booked and the Parkingpnp app downloaded , I could roll up to the gate and use the app to open it. Cheers again.
