You right that is a good price. But check what one like it will cost you here. That's what the vrt will be charged on.

We went to a rear twin & dinnette layout like you linked to last year and are finding it quite claustraphobic compared to the more lounge style that your Hymer has today. They are also not very social especially if you have drop down front bed so we are "half" looking for the rear lounge style now.

On the plus side the beds are excellent and the nights sleep is amazing, the garage means you can carry with ease bikes and your outside lifestyle accessories. This is why we are only "half" looking for a different layout.

When I was looking for my first camper, I was talking to a good friend of mine who was a Fiat and Ford mechanic. He also did some evening work after the day job. When I asked on the whole "Ford Vs Fiat", he pointed to his yard that had 4 transits all with blown engines waiting for suitable engines to come up.

He also said if I brought a 2.2 Ducato into the yard to take it straight back out.

Edit, to be fair, it's very hard to find a 2.2 Ducato camper as most are 2.3.

Forgot to say. This was a few years ago so the advice doesn't apply to the new Transits and Ducatos. It applies to the era of 'vans the OP linked.

I think the 2.2 is more common in the Peugeot / Citroën vans and is more or less the same lump as the 2.2 in the Transit
