Looks like our motorhoming jaunts in Spain are set to become more expensive as the Spanish government seem set on imposing a network of tolls by 2024.

1 cent per kilometre doesn’t sound bad if the roads are kept in decent condition. I used to avoid tolls in Spain and Portugal but some or the non toll roads in Portugal in particular were awful so I switched to using the tolls which I’m fairly certain are quite a bit more than 1c per 1km but I was happy to pay to avoid the really poor N roads.
Spain tolls always seemed much cheaper than Portugal.

That's not bad at all, considering the journey quoted of from Valencia to Madrid. Cost €3.60.
Same type of trip here Newry to Cotk would cost €9.70.+ the extra cost of fuel.

France is expensive. A jaunt from Cherbourg to the Alps and back cost more than the Annual Tax here

Strange that considering they have just removed to tolls off the AP7 and from what I can gather a lot of other AP motorways

At 1c a mile it is definitely OK…… but for how long.
It’s probably in preparation for EV when they loose the tax on fuel……. Maybe something we will have to get used to.

The problem I would see there is while they would seem inexpensive to begin with,how long will they stay that way?
In today's world prices always seem to be on the increase.

We've spent months travelling through mainland Spain this year and rarely paid tolls even on AP roads that were still marked as tolls on our 2020 map
