Tesco Ferry Points....nice while it lasted!

We've collected Tesco Clubcard points for a good few years, and have booked ferry trips to the UK and France on many occasions, using our points total x four to pay for all or most of the tickets each time.
Even when Avantcard credit cards took over from Tesco, we still earned points from every purchase.
I was checking our Clubcard statement today and noticed almost none of my Avantcard purchases had been added to my points total.
It turns out I missed the email Tesco sent me a few months ago. No more Avantcard points.
Points now only from shopping in Tesco, Tesco mobile phones and Bord Gais. Even Certa filling stations, who took over from Tesco, are pulling out soon.
It was nice while it lasted, but it looks like now we'll have to start paying for ferry trips!

We never found them very good. Tesco is more expensive than other shops and the extra money saved shopping elsewhere and the 15% Stena Craic discount works out better for us.

MHCC members get 15% discount on the Irish Sea with Stena. As its only £14.99 to join MHCC its a no brainer 😁😇

I used Tescos points for my jaunt this year. The price was €650 and I got €290 (£240 tesco points). I have used them for years and they used to give points for more things. I have had 2 journeys a year in the past for next to nothing

tesco vouchers are great. Ive been using them for a return chunnel crossing every year since 2010. I shop for a family of 5 with 3 growing teenagers, and find tesco the best value. Ive done several comparisons at Lidl and tesco always win for me. Would it be correct to presume that if MHCC discount was used, then tesco could then not be used also...any one tried?

Tescos vouchers can not be used with any other discount.
Tescos work for me as they deliver which is very important for me.

hi ally, Ive googled MHCC to look at their membership. Not sure which one? Do you have a link...£15 would definitely be handy to save 15% for a summer irish sea crossing...thanks

I came home last week from England for £8 on a motorbike.

An interesting choice Ally. Personally, I wouldn't chance crossing on a motorbike, surely it would only float for a limited time? 😂

I have Tesco Clubcard and a 24 hr Tesco across the road and Fran does shopping for her mate (who only has Tesco stuff) who cannot get about to do her own, Use Tesco for fuel usually unless there's a garage a lot cheaper and my points don't seem to go up that much and have the credit card for which you only get one point for every £4 spent just renewed my Travel insurance and booked a holiday in Dec and spent almost £900 so will get a whopping £2.25 for that. :-/

We're down in the sunny South, Tommy. Tesco have abandoned us unless we live near one of their stores
First it was Avantcard taking over from Tesco credit cards (don't worry, you'll still get your points...for a few months then ye can feck off)
Now it's Certa taking over Tesco filling stations (don't worry, you'll still get your points etc etc)
Leaving just points if you use Tesco Mobile (we don't) Bord Gais electricity (we do) and Tesco Supermarkets (hour and a half away)
As I said, nice while it lasted!
