I had a look at listings on Donedeal a couple of days ago...167 listings
I looked today.......238 listings

Is this the usual seasonal trend or is there more to it?

Post #staycation vans are starting to come on the market. Overpriced vans and some absolutely ringing with damp. Experienced a few horror stories at our storage yard already.

plenty of price reductions appearing on Donedeal over past 6 weeks or so, so id say the arse could well fall out of the used van market soon enough...especially for the type of crap that ally described above. I was horrified by some of the asking prices I saw during early summer, I wonder were those vans (90's/early naughties) actually selling for anywhere near the asking price? I sold a 98 6 berth in 2018, and saw the actual same van up during summer for 10k more than I sold it for...lol!

I know of a caravan that the seller wants £2800 for. I really haven't the heart to tell them it's scrap. But I'm sure that's what they paid at the time.

I honestly wouldn't give them £500 to break it.

Very similar to that, I looked at a rust bucket 18 mths ago that was advertised "perfect condition" and as soon as I looked under it the rust was brutal........this week same mh same seller asking 10k more than 18 mths back,

That is either one very honest ebayer, or one bloody wind up merchant.😂

One of the guys on the Talbot forum is going to view it as he wants to engage with the seller, no intention of buying😁

After reading the hilarious description, I put this on my ebay watch list, just to see what happened. It's now up to £1640, with 43 bids!

Okay, so TODAY I get 145 listings for Motorhomes on Donedeal .....where will I get the average 990 as referenced above........what search parameters are you using.?

Apologies if I'm missing the obvious but genuinely puzzled here!

I’d say that 140 odd figure in accurate, I’ve been looking at vans for a wee while now too, just looking at the different models, not to buy, anyway the recession hasn’t come yet, 990 may follow next year

Do you mean private sales Kilroy because Thompson’s has about 60 vans alone, I mean private

The big numbers come from the dealer adds, that transfer you to their website, which will include in some of them, everything they have sold so far this year.
Dealers have taken over,

If you google Done deal Campers you get the small number, but if you go into DoneDeal search for motors there is a drop down menu for campers, it’s there you will find the 900 odd camper and Motorhomes for sale

Well if the price of new ones are inflated by that much, I can’t see secondhand ones dropping in price that much, there will be very few trade in’s and the rubbish ones will be scrapped.

I've been looking at cars, there is not a chance in hell I am buying anything for a while. If the prices never fall then it's worth me keeping what I have and just spending the extra on the higher petrol prices. I see a big crash coming though.

Thanks for the various replies.
I see where the numbers are coming from now!...from the dealers listings. I wasn't picking that up in my previous search. Its still pretty frothy looking there!
