TV power consumption

Been replacing all my lights with LED. Thought I would take a look at the TV which is an Avtex.

35 watts!! I thought these were meant to be low power consumption. Avtex really have a great picture but they need to up their game when it comes to power and mpeg4.

I see there are LED TV's now using as little as 15 watts, maybe less.

What does yours use?

Depends also on the speaker o/p wattage some sets have really bad speakers , the new LED 19" Avtex still uses about 35W, but that includes the built in sat decoder etc. 3 amps would still take a right while to pull decent batteries down.
Also this is the max valve of power consumption, screen up up full brightness and speakers at full blast

Sorry Ally a 36watt draws 3amps from the battery

Thas good news Ally The AR 3000 usb wifi repeater that you have listed in the shop, have you tried one of these yourself yet. Looking earlier it seems that the connection is a usb type connector to the aerial.,Is that correct ?
Once its powered up what sort of range have you been getting from it, ie will it just work inside the van or what area does it work outside if you wanted to connect the phone/ipad etc through it.

Thats sound, more than enough distance. Did you try a couple of devices hooked into it at once looks like the ticket to use the playbook, ipad etc rather than firing up the lappy every time
