Arrived here tonight about 9.20.....started to get dark but from what I can see its very nice. About 20 vans here including g ourselves and sister and her hubby in their van. We are parked with a clear view to the sea and Norman View across the bay is just visible....Rain is making its hypnotic sounds on Motorhome roof whilst the wind blows but all is good as we are away in our camper and doggies are fast asleep....Eventually!

Will be posting pics over the weekend....Wherever you are Craicers....Enjoy!

Enjoy John. Looks a good spot. What’s the cost. I heard Joe is upping his prices to €15 and €20 with ehu. That’s getting a little saucy, especially if other places nearby are cheaper. Still a great spot though

Cars accompanying Motorhomes seem very popular this year, I heard they are causing problems in Ardmore with people not wanting to pay Dick €5, they are parking them by the beach and when families come for a day trip to the beach they have no place to park. That isn’t helping our cause either.

Had a lovely morning on the beach....the sun shone continuously. Bernie the owner of site came around selling homemade jams, scones and brown bread. The oatmeal brown was delicious 😋

A word of warning, Banniw bay is not to be trusted, do not go wandering out around the bay at low tide, the water can come in very fast and you cannot see the deep depressions , where you could step off the edge of a 2mtr channell. even in a full wetsuit it is hard to navigate.
There was an incident at this time of year in 1998, what is locally calked the Bannow tragedy.a Boy and his Uncle were lost.
Aaron in a recent Blog suggested you could walk out at low tide, he could probably revisit and edit his video..

Couldn't agree more, spring tides and rip currents are very powerful in that spot...one of my favorite spot for kayak fishing. Unfortunately very often we can see people venturing with inflatable toys on the sea, risking their own life and others ...

So to sum up our first visit to Bannow Bay would be that its ideal for chilling out and especially great if you have dogs....tons of space to have fun and explore along the shoreline and beaches. If you want pubs and shops then you'll be disappointed but if you want a tranquil spot to unwind then this is it 👍
