frech campsites

hey fellow campers im taking my camper to france for the first time in the sumer and booking ferry etc at the moment what im looking for now is advice on good sites to visit either in loire valley or other option is down the west coast im loooking for sites with good family friendly facilites with plenty to do and see eg water slides play ground resturant u know urself any advice hreatly welcome

domaine de la breche is a large site with loads to do if you have kids. It is about 5 miles outside Saumur.

In the Vendee bretignolles-sur-mer there is a nice campsite called la trevilliere which is good for kids and near the local sports centre.

If you make it to Loches it is great for site seeing and markets. The campsite is called la citadelle and a five minute walk from town.

Hi Kavman. Try "Camping La Yole", near Talmont st Hilare or "La Littoral", near Sable D"Ollone or "Valle des Vignes" near Saumur, Loire. All are 4 star with large (we"re 9m long), fully serviced pitches. If you look at the "Les Castelles" website, all their sites are super quality or try the French "Les Campings" website there are loads on there. I"m about to start researching for our French trip. Kavman, look up castel sites, they are expensive but most have all the stuff required to keep the family happy, mostly based within chateaus with bars/pool/ some with water parks etc

we have used the castles site at Quimper south Brittainy twice in the last few years.

Nice site, very clean, good showers and toilets. We have used it for short overnight stops to get laundry done, decent shower etc after a week or so on aires. Nice pool, pizza restaurant and bar, golf. Not enough perhaps for teenagers for a long stay but highly recommended as it is close to the town of Quimper which is worth a visit.

The big draw for us is that the site is very close to the town and is easily accessed by bike or on foot by a riverside path.
