Hi
Looking for a towbar to fit motorcycle carrier on a 1998 Fiat Ducato Butstner. Plan is to make a motorcycle carrier. Does anyone have one for sale? Thanks

Hi

Unless you have a Panel Van Conversion (PVC) a standard tow bar made for your year of vehicle is unlikely to fit due to rear overhang.

It would be better if you state the actual model (as much detail as possible). Many people who cannot get a tow bar from a certified towbar manufacturer have one made up or in order not to break certain current regulations re tow bars (may not apply to your age of van) have an alternative fixing made to fit a carrier on.

Good luck
David

Check what type of chassis you have, some of them are not suitable for mounting a towbar. My previous MH, 1998 Dethleffs on a Ducato, had a lighter gauge extension fitted to the original Fiat chassis to accommodate the overhang. not strong enough for a towbar.

The first one most important thing to check is.......... Is there enough spare load carrying capacity on the rear axle. All the iron work plus a motorbike will add a fair bit of extra.
