Booking campsites that ask you to pay on arrival

Folks,
Can anyone tell me of campsites they have booked that have 1 week or thereabouts cancellation policy and also pay on arrival policy from their experiences around Ireland. Trying to plan and thought this might be the place to post such a question amongst the more seasoned travellers.

Only campsite I have used since I got the Motorhome is North beach near Lusk/Rush north county Dublin. They don’t take bookings to avoid people not turning up. Last time I was there it was best if you arrived around 12 midday and hoped you got a space as someone else was leaving.

I seen on a different forum people in England paying £60 sterling per night to stay in a campsite in Newquay.
Sweet Jesus but that is some rip off.

Some people are so ooooooo brainwashed that they will pay that David, I am most certainly not one of them.

To purchase a motorhome and then pay that rip off is insane.

I haven’t been there in a few years but was always very tidy and it is right beside the town. 5-10 mins depending on whether you take the road or walk across the beach which is slightly shorter.

We were there for a weekend in the middle of the late July heatwave, we went there specifically because we had no booking for anywhere else. We got there about 3:30pm and got a space no problem, you most likely get one of the spaces on the sea facing side at that time, but he kind of works that on rotation and will move you across on Saturday if a space comes free.

It's a short walk or cycle into the town and has direct access to the beach.
