Can anyone suggest where I can get a 12 volt/mains t.v. in the Republic for a motorhome?

It should have the facility to be attached to a wall bracket.

I can always rely on someone to have this sort of helpful information!

Do you want to watch the news while out there relaxing though?

I just use a tablet that consumes way less power, can be charged with any battery bank or with the leisure battery no bother and I can load up all my movies or series from Netflix to watch offline in case I don't have internet on the road.

Bought one of these and I can move it around the van on the table or in the bed: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/pr…UTF8&psc=1

Just my two cents.

Buy THIS and use a regular mains TV. It's useful for other things too

there are many different ways to power your tv,where as i would agree with all the above there also other ways to power your tv(aldi also does specials on a 24" dvd tv from time to time)also research solar powered generators that can power your tv overnight :),just an idea :)

All those suggestions are well and good, however the original post was where to get a 12 volt tv. I’d be fairly sure the person knows the question that they want answered. If he wanted to run tv off inverter he would probably have asked that, equally if he wanted to know about using a tablet, whether for watching the news or not. Perhaps a few answers that are relevant to the question, before offering alternatives, mightn’t be a bad idea. IMO.

Be careful with tv's with external transformers which convert the mains to 12volt. Those power supply units give a regulated 12 volts.
Connecting such tv's to the mh 12v system which can vary between 11v and 14.4v could shorten their life.
If the tv is not supplied with a separate power cable with a 12v plug I would either use an inverter or One of These

This has come up a good few times before so a search of the forums for 12v tv should show up some old threads. I use a Cello which is at the cheaper end with an externally powered speaker to improve the tinny sound. It comes with a mains cable and a separate 12v cigarette socket for the van. I use a £10 digital aerial from eBay stuck to an inside window for reception which works fine. Also use and external hard drive with stores movies and an Apple cable to show downloaded shows from Netflix from my phone or iPad. Don’t use it that much but handy for catching up on the news. Secured to the wall using a bracket from eBay.

Another vote for the Cello Traveller. I used a spare PC sound system (12v bass-boost speaker and two small extension speakers) to improve the otherwise tinnny sound. The improved set-up also means we can hear Fair City from every seat....(I never said it was perfect!)

Most electronics work at 5v so while there is a 12v supply, there will be voltage regulation internally in the TV for the critical circuitry. The use of a 12v input rather than 5v is about reducing the current passing through the barrel jack connector.

USB Fast Charging is following the same path with 9v and 12v passing through the USB cable with the conversion back down to 5v happening in the Phone/Tablet.

I wire my TV straight of the battery. I can still power it from its AC adapter (rated 12 V DC) if I’m on EHU, but quite often I don’t bother. I just tie it in to the 12 V electrics. The 14 Volts or so that is reached will not fry it.
