question about VRT

Hello
I want to buy campervan (most likely I would buy it on continent and drive it back).
Big question is VRT - how much would that be.

Can anyone who imported camper could share their VRT rate? (what make, year, mileage) just so other people like me have some sort of idea what VRT may be.

Like I plan to buy fiat or peugeot based camper 1990-98 (up to 10.000 euro) and dont know if VRT - 13% - would be 1000, 2000 or 5000 euro, what to expect?

Thanks

(I tried to search forum but search is not working)

It won’t be too far off 13.3% of the value here. If you think you are getting a bargain over there, Allow about 17-18%. I have just got one vrt’d from Northern Ireland this week. They seem to be realistic, despite the horror stories around.

I would go along with Daffy , only maybe a little higher,
Add 20% on the asking price, then take 13.5% of the total and use that figure as your most outrages, VRT.amount and be pleasantly surprised having some money, for the cvrt, tax and insurance . and you might even have
something towards the shipping.

10,000× 20% =12,000 -13.5% =1,620
landed estimate = 11,620 anything less and your a winner.
That the way I'm looming at it, I will let you know, if I'm right or wrong,in a couple of weeks.

Id love to know how they valued yours David, there isn't many of your Make/model sold in the south to base the resale value on

They based it on the sales invoice, Pat.
Added a percentage to it, and then put the 13.3 % on the lot.
