Gas vent

Hello everybody,

I’m new here and currently converting a sprinter. We’re currently wondering if the gas vent (in the box for gas bottle) could be at the very bottom of the wall, rather than in the floor? We might at some stage register the van in Germany rather then here, so we try to adjust the van to both countries requirements, as if one wasn’t enough. In Germany the gas vent can be in floor or in very bottom of wall, but has to have 100cm2.
Does anybody know how it is here?

Thanks in advance

Personally I would put it in the floor to allow any escaping liquid gas to escape downwards and out of the van.

Its not just liquid, Propane is heavier than air even when in gaseous form, that's why the vents are fitted to the floor.
If the vent was on the wall it would have to have holes that are flush with the bottom of the box. NO lip at all.
Personally I wouldn't fit a wall vent.

Yes, as @Bounder states... the vent needs to be at the bottom and on the floor preferably as the gas is heavier than air.
