Just saw this online.

New highway code rules from today.

https://www.portugalresident.c…6lqeSZyufw

I wonder if this will include public car parks or beaches.

In essence it changes the onus it used to be that unless there was a sign saying you can’t park then you could. Now you can only park a MH overnight if there is a sign saying you can.

I wonder if people will stop going to Portugal for long term stays now

I doubt it there are still some great commercial Aires in good locations that are very well priced, the campsites tend to be a good standard and well priced especially for long stays and there are still free Aires provided by the towns etc.

Portugal new rules

I not sure how they will enforce these new rules as there literally many hundreds of MH all along the coastal area parked near beaches and other unauthorised places Which has been the case for many years with random checks done periodically but never really enforced 100% across the country .
The GNR are badly resourced with low salaries which makes them unwilling to put a lot of time an effort into patrolling such activities
Let’s see what happens as COVID vaccine is a mor pressing problem to solve currently .
