Now you lot clicked this for something else ..... 😏
But now that you’re here ......

A scheme run along the lines of the French passion scheme where you can stay on farms/vineyards/artisan producers in exchange for buying some of their produce.
All bookable in advance too.

Its tortuous looking at all those lovely stopovers as the cold wind and rain rages outside😔

Some fabulous places to look forward to visiting 👍

Just had a quick browse through the site. It looks like the idea is after you buy a welcome pack, which in itself seems good value, you can stay for 'free'. A great concept which could be adopted here by pubs, restaurants and farms with shops.
One example I know of here is the Camp Street Cafe in Oughterard where you can park overnight for free if you spend in the café which is renound for its pizza's and fish&chips.

Many thanks for advising., JJF

Very useful.

I flew over and travelled to Portugal a couple of times. We were very much welcome.
Many sites worth visiting . From Porto to Lisbonne, for example:
Coimbra , Sintra
Douro wines are excellent . How about a good white wine with many Cod specialities over there ?

So : my to do list ....on return from Ireland .

Portugal is lovely and we definitely plan to use these passions when we next visit.
We use the French passions when we are there and find them excellent. Usually nice and quiet, rural and interesting produce to sample is a bonus. And if it helps keep small businesses buoyant and feasible then that’s a win win for all.

Jon. Are the bars on the App not, all the same principal?. The Glenmalure Lodge in Wicklow offer free parking and you don't have to use the pub or Restaurant, but only Miserable Git's wouldn't, the food is excellent.

For me it’s a much more interesting way to move around ,I will use it .
I did read through few of the hosts and some are closed due to u know what.
Do they give u a gps location after u book I assume or maybe not.
Anyway I would much prefer to be parked up on a farm / winery etc than campsites.
Thumbs up for Portuguese passion
