Have to agree with you thereTom, I was there a couple weeks ago, the pub is closed and they come around in the evening collecting the money and they take your rubbish if desired also. Hopefully they get to open the pub next week
Great pics Tom. If you fancy a walk, and haven't been already...take a left out of the aire and walk a few hundred yards out of the village. On your left you'll come to a half-deserted housing development. A scary example of what happens when you build on a flood plain! Worth a visit.

I must have missed that one Tony. Must watch out the next time we visit..
Although as we were heading out the Kenmare road there was great work going on in the housing estate on the left..

We did three nights there in August, it's the only place we stayed for more than one night in the two weeks. A little bit of heaven, we had cracking weather while we were there.
One of my work colleagues was moving on to a new job and there was a 'Zoom Farewell Party' on the Friday afternoon while we were there. In glorious sunshine I set myself up with the river and the bridge (and the mountains) in the background and joined for a few minutes on my phone to say goodbye. There were a few gasps of jealousy amongst my colleagues.
I agree with all the positive comments about Sneem, I spent four nights there last week, its one of the best sites and Sean is always pleasant and helpful. He has done a fantastic job on the development of the whole site, it was booked out on saturday night. He deserves our support.
Arrived here today to find a new pricing policy. The €10 plus ehu as an extra is gone. Some clients were only paying the base price and taking electricity on the sly. So, thanks to them, the new price is €15 Inc. EHU, which is ok too.

f***ing cheapskates... like I said on another thread, there's no way motorhome cassette emptying was the root cause of the blockages in those fancy self cleaning toilets because there's no way the they'd have coughed up the €1 or whatever it costs to use the damn thing.
Anyway, Goosey Island is a fantastic amenity even at €15 per night.

Was on a site in France where they put in your circuit breaker when you checked in and paid. They put in 6, 10 or 16 whatever you paid for. This stopped anyone using without paying.

If that was here some lad would chance making a fuse out of a bit of wire to avoid paying

For anyone relying on mobile data for TV, etc. I've just done a speed test (Vodafone) here at Goosey Island, result Download 147 Mbps, Upload 27.2 Mbps.
The statistic shows who was online during the last 5 minutes. Updated every 90 seconds.
